Fashion Show photos posted!

I just put up a page of some of our photos from the fashion show here:

http://www.kambriel.com/c10.html

I really hope everyone enjoyed my Edward Gorey inspired show as much as I enjoyed putting it together (and I was ~so~ happy that the oversized urn made it from Salem to Chicago in one piece...)!

If someone was filming that night, I'd be very grateful if you could get in touch with me about getting a copy so that can be added at some point too. Since the piece was very theatrical in nature, I'd love to see it with a view better than the slight bit I could see from backstage... Also feel free to let me know if you have more photos of the show itself :)

I really want to thank CarrieMonster for being an absolute *treat* from beginning to end... I'd say she was the best fashion show organizer I've had the pleasure to work with!

Also, my sincere thanks to all of my wonderful models ~ Tatiana, Jordan, latemodel, Tony, Lisa and Scary Lady Sarah who didn't really need ~another~ thing to do during the festivities, but was so very obliging, not to mention a true vision in her silver gown! My love and gratitude to you all!

The fashion show was so beautiful this year, and I absolutely loved your Edward Gorey theme...it worked out perfectly, IMHO. :)

Also, it was so great to meet you in person at the pearl-knotting class. I did end up giving my mom the necklace I made (and I made earrings out of the two pearls I saved), and she was floored.

Yes, we gals are a creative bunch!

:)

*hugs*

I'm so glad you got to see the show, thanks for the compliments!

I love the pearl necklace I made, maybe even more so for the few pearls which dance around a bit... I've decided to call it "charming" :)

I'm sure your mom was ~really~ not expecting that gift ~ I'm betting that she'll wear it often, and be very proud to do so.

Your work was, as always, stunning & beautiful! I wish I could have seen the performance, but I'm glad I did get to see everything closeup backstage :-)

Ditto, you said exactly what *I* was going to, basically verbatim! :>

-- A, who is REALLY looking forward to seeing more pictures of all the shows!!

~blush~

Thank you so much for the kind words! I actually think alot of what I do is better if seen at close range, in order to appreciate the little details that don't necessarily show up from a distance. Like all of the vining and petals that were on the skirt portion of my gown...

I really do hope to see video of the whole show someday, just to see everything we missed being backstage. It seems all of the designers really put their all into making a good show!

Perfect Drama

Both my wife and I loves your theme and execution, was a wonderful show, and a lot of fun to watch :)

Re: Perfect Drama

Now, now... we didn't execute our last model, she just "fainted" (joking!). I'm really glad both you and your wife had fun at the show :)

Indeed

The fashion finale was a definite highlight. It was a very charming diversion from your average catwalk. Thank you!

Re: Indeed

Ah yes, that's what I tend to do it seems. I can't recall ever doing an actual catwalk style fashion show... closest thing was a funeral procession theme! It of course drives me crazy sometimes when I realize how much extra work I voluntarily create by insisting on doing "something more interesting" complete with choreography, etc... but it's also more fulfillling in the end, hopefully for the audience too :)

An artist with many talents...

The extra work WAS recognized and appreciated judging from the comments you've had so far. I think, at worst, you suffer the terrible consequence of great success as an artist with more talent than just for design. You never can tell where that will take you.

In conclusion, you've succeeded to established and burn your brand into my heart. For now on, I'll have no choice but to keep my eye out.

Your fashion show piece was brilliant.

Historically I avoid the AGF/fashion show events - but in this case I can say my suffering was sincerely abated.

I absolutely adored that flapper dress that Lisa was wearing.

*Thank you* That bat flapper dress is actually a favourite of mine too! I don't believe the fabrics I used for it are being made anymore, but I'm going to see about getting what's available so I can at least make a few more as a limited edition design and offer it on the website (http://www.kambriel.com). I'd be happy to check into how much fabric is still available, and make you one if you'd like.. just let me know if you like the colors I made it in, or if you'd prefer something different :)

Oh, and thanks to Rachel Turner and her great photography, I just added new photos of the fashion show on my c10 page (linked above)!

[info]lucybond and I were positively giddy with delight over your piece in the fashion show. I thought it was just marvelous, and such a nice change from the standard trip down the catwalk.
